About

Kikiriki(in English “Cock-a-Doodle-Doo”) Spanish wants to be a place where children enjoy playing and learning in safe, warm, caring enviroment.

Most of the time the children engage in free play, in and outdoors. Some days we go to playgroups, park, library, outings... We use a Planning in the moment approach as well as following the EYFS and Development Matters.
The EYFS is split into seven areas of learning grouped under Prime Areas of Learning and Specific Areas of Learning.
Prime Areas of Learning:
Communication and Language
Giving children opportunities to experience a rich language environment, developing their confidence and self-esteem to express themselves and to be able to speak and listen in a range of situations.
Personal, Social and Emotional
Helping children to develop a positive sense of themselves, and others. To develop the skills to manage their feelings and respect for others. To understand appropriate behaviour and develop confidence in their own abilities.
Physical Development
Giving children opportunities to be active and interactive, developing their co-ordination and control of movement through an exciting range of activities. As well as learning about the importance of being healthy and the impact on their bodies.
Specific Areas of Learning:
Literacy
Giving children opportunities to explore linking letters to sounds and begin reading and writing. Offering access to a wide range of different reading materials to enjoy.
Mathematics
Providing opportunities for children to work with a range of problem solving activities, developing their skills in counting, understanding and using numbers, calculating simple subtraction and additions and describing shapes, measure and space.
Understanding the World
Encouraging children to gain an understanding of the world and community around them. Looking at activities about people, places and exploring the environment and technology.
Expressive Arts and Design
Giving children opportunities to explore a range of media and materials. It also provides opportunities for sharing thoughts, ideas and feelings through a range of different activities in art, music, role play, and design and technology.
